Mentoring for Children in Central Florida
What mentoring services does FOCF offer?
This FREE service is available to youth between the ages of 10-17, who reside in East Orlando.
- Improvement in school behavior.
- Learn health coping skills to deal with stressors.
- Develop Self-Control
- Build Self-Esteem
- Improve Social Skills and Personal Relationships.
Who qualifies for mentoring services?
- The youth must reside in designated zip codes located in East Orange County, and must be between the ages of 10-17.
- The youth must have a history of delinquent behavior as evidenced by behavior problems at school, home, or in the community.
- Availability to meet with mentor 2-3 times a week in person or via zoom.
How does Friends of Children & Families assist with mentoring services?
FRIENDS’s Mentors are carefully screened and matched with foster care children who need support and guidance from a positive role model. This positive partnership provides an invaluable experience to foster children who have often have negative interactions with adults.
