Abuse and neglect of children has increased at an alarming rate in the last decade, leading to an increase in the number of children who need out-of-home care. Fortunately, with your help, we have the opportunity to brighten the lives of these children. Friends of Children and Families, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. We provide shelter for children in foster care between the ages of 6-18, and make sure that we provide all of the emotional and physical resources that they need in order to thrive.
To foster means to nourish, cherish and encourage. When a child is placed into foster care, they often feel abandoned and unable to trust anyone. Friends of Children and Families is committed to turning “hurting into healing” by providing the children with a loving home, and giving them the opportunity to participate in activities that promote positive development and self esteem.
