Family Educator

Job Description

Friends of Children and Families is seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team as a Family Educator.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in the Human Services field is preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in the Human Services field and 5 years experience working with families is required. Must have a valid Driver’s License, be willing to travel and to work afterhours.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality, evidenced based Parenting classes to assigned Clients by scheduling, coordinating and facilitating classes, events and activities that engage Parents/Guardians
  • Assist Parents/Guardians with identifying and accessing community services and resources to help them effectively manage the needs of their children and families.
  • Implement evidence-based practices supported by research and evaluation
  • Maintain accurate records of services rendered and submit documents accurately and within required timeframes
  • Work collaboratively with other Community Partners
  • Travel to various community settings to promote and implement the Program
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and must be able to work evenings.
  • Assist with the collection of data that identifies service needs, trends and issues that impact the community.

Benefits

The company pays 75% coverage for employee Health, 50% Dental, and 100% Life insurance; however, these percentages are subject to change. Benefits are effective 90 days from your start date.

In addition to the insurance benefits, you will accrue 10 vacation days and 5 Sick days annually. Also, Friends observes 9 holidays.

Case Coordinator

Job Description

Friends of Children and Families is seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team as a Case Coordinator.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in the Human Services field. Experience working with youth preferred. Must have a valid Driver’s License, be willing to travel and to work afterhours.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality, evidenced based services to children and their families who have one or more parent or guardian that are or have been incarcerated.
  • Serve as positive and supportive role model for child and their family
  • Deliver Case Management Services to support children and their families and help them sustain a positive home life.
  • Have knowledge of various community resources
  • Maintain regular contact with child’s school to monitor attendance, performance, and behavior and recommend services to keep child engaged in education
  • Facilitate communication and promote problem solving between home and school
  • Provide children and their families with information regarding community resources and provide linkage in order to increase awareness of benefits and services

Friends of Children and Families is seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team as a Group Facilitator.

  • Provide services and activities in a structured manner that engages youth and encourages positive social interactions

Direct Support Professional (DSP)**BONUS**

Job Description

Friends of Children and Families will be implementing a discretionary bonus structure for full time DSP’s. This will provide an opportunity to earn an additional $500 every 6 months!

Locations: Union Park and Oviedo

Overview

As a DSP, you will provide care for abused and neglected youth that have been placed in foster care. In a group home setting, you will assist in implementing treatment goals to ensure that health, nutritional, educational, social and recreational needs of the youth are met. You will be responsible for transporting youth, in a company vehicle, to activities such as; school, medical appointments and recreational outings. The ability to establish positive relationships is imperative to this position in order to be successful in delivering assistance with necessary tasks such as homework and independent living skills. This position requires cooking, light cleaning, distribution of medications and proficiency with email and computer use.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, ability to pass a level II background check, ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be available to work 4:00pm- 12:00am or 12:00am- 8:00am
  • In addition, all DSP’s are required to attend in service trainings and maintain 40 hours of continuing education units per year. Job Description

Friends of Children and Families is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a community outreach liaison to help prevent youth from being placed in the system.

MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY (DAY/NIGHT/WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred or 3 years experience working with at risk youth. A valid driver’s license and 100,000/300,000 liability insurance is required. The candidate needs to be knowledgeable of community resources and should also be comfortable and able to work with emotionally disturbed adolescents.

Responsibilities:

Maintain HIPAA compliance in all aspects, including but not limited to, security of electronic information.
Work with the youth and family to develop plan to ensure the safety of the youth and others.
Brief, solution focused interventions that address behavior immediately.
Work closely with CPI’s to prevent kids from coming into care.
Attend diversion staff meetings and court hearings.
Identification of natural supports for the youth and family.
Providing youth and family with linkage to community resources, such as coordination with other crisis stabilization providers.
Follow up with youth and family to ensure that the plan developed has been implemented and is on-going.
Document interactions with youth and family, and submit documentation in appropriate timeframe.
Complete required monthly reports and submit within specified time frames.
Submitted notes are accurate, thorough and detailed in all areas.
Other peripheral duties required based on the details of the case.
Communicates all concerns with difficult cases and consults with the COO to process the best approach to addressing problematic issues or concerns.
